Rain-Cut Pant overpants or waterproof leggings for complete protection for the lower legs and provide comprehensive and highly effective protection from the most violent storms.
Care products: spray or liquid water repellent treatment in the washing machine. To regenerate the water resistance of the fabric, and optimize the performance of your garment throughout its lifespan.
Waterproof component
The resistance of the fabric is measured to a water pressure expressed in mm of water column (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood, the more waterproof the fabric is. A component with a 2000 mm waterproof resists pressure from 2000 mm of water (which corresponds approximately to a 2-hour downpour).
Impermeability of the garment
Technologies: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 26 gallons of water/sqm/hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a violent storm in the mountains.
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapor generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability is.For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9
Breathability of the garment
In addition to breathable fabrics, Quechua develops technical solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh, etc.) to improve the overall ventilation of its trekking jackets, overpants and rain capes (Forclaz, Bionassay and Helium lines).
These ventilation systems allow to both regulate the temperature inside of the garment and help wick away perspiration generated by the body during exercise.
Water repellent component
The water resistance of a fabric is its ability to let water slide on its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The water resistance is obtained by a treatment applied to the outside of the fabric. This treatment needs to be repeated throughout the product's lifespan (we recommend every 3 washes). All Quechua waterproof ponchos and capes have received a water repellent treatment.
A note to compare the environmental impact of the products
The environmental impacts of the product are calculated throughout its life-cycle and with different indicators. An ABCDE note is performed to help you easily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing the products of the same type between them (T-shirts, pants, backpacks...).
Decathlon is a voluntary player of this approach of environmental labeling.

Product Testing
Quechua is based at the foot of the Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). Throughout the year, our design teams think and develop beautiful, simple and technical products. We then test them in the field in collaboration with our technical partners and mountain professionals under the most constraining conditions. Indeed, we are convinced that only by subjecting our products to real situations, such as those you will experience, allows us to progress permanently.
